When a new product is submitted to the platform it is sent to our product approval team for review. A new product waiting to be reviewed will appear on your brand page as pending approval. The approval process should not take more than 24-48 hours Monday through Friday. Once a product has been approved it will not need to be reviewed again unless a critical field has been edited.
Note: The RangeMe team approves products to be published on the platform only, having your product approved does not mean you have been approved by a retailer for a submission or open call.
If a critical field has been edited a product will appear on your brand page as pending update until the product has been reviewed. When a non-critical field is edited the changes will go live immediately after submission. This means that suppliers can now make non-critical edits to their products without having to unpublish their products.
What are critical fields and why are they important?
Critical fields are fields that must be monitored to ensure the accuracy and quality of the RangeMe marketplace. There are four critical fields that are reviewed by our product approval team, they are:
MSRP (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price) & Cost: Both of these fields are reviewed to ensure that suppliers are not entering unrealistic pricing. (e.g. Gross Margin of 0% or Cost of $0.01)
Category: We review category to ensure that products are being matched to most appropriate buyers. This field is very important to us because if a supplier accidentally selects an incorrect category they may not be seen by the right buyers.
Product Name: This field is reviewed to make sure that the name is both appropriate, and relevant to the product.
Image: Our team reviews and rates images to make sure that they meet our standards. If a new better image is uploaded we want to ensure that we improve your image rating! (see: What Makes a Good Product Image)
Note: If your product is not approved we will send you a written explanation via email explaining why it was not approved and what the next steps are.
