Q: What is the Walmart Growth Summit Mexico event?

Walmart Growth Summit Mexico is a sourcing event for Walmart Mexico. It’s an exciting and unique opportunity for selected entrepreneurs to pitch their product to a Walmart merchant and potentially get their product in the hands of millions of our customers. Products must be manufactured, grown, or assembled in Mexico to be considered for the event. 

These product pitches are 30-minute one-on-one meetings to secure deals ranging from a handful of local stores to supplying hundreds of stores, as well as Walmart.com and Walmart Marketplace. 

In addition to the pitch meetings, the one-day program includes a series of breakout sessions designed to inform, empower and encourage business owners of all sizes. Many of the sessions are open to the general public virtually, making the program accessible to more businesses and convenient for them to participate regardless of location.

Q: Are there certain requirements to apply for this event?

Yes. Your items must be manufactured, grown, or assembled in Mexico. The Mexican government, through the Ministry of Economy, is the holder of the “Hecho en México” (Made in Mexico) trademark, which is an official distinctive sign that may be used to identify products that are made in Mexico. The Mexican Ministry of Economy authorizes the use of the "Hecho en México" (Made in Mexico) trademark to companies or suppliers over such products manufactured within the Mexican Republic and which comply with the provisions established in the applicable regulation: ACUERDO mediante el cual se establecen los requisitos para otorgar el uso, licencia y sublicencia de la marca Hecho en México (https://dof.gob.mx/nota_detalle.php?codigo=5472970&fecha=24/02/2017#gsc.tab=0)

All items submitted by the supplier can be viewed on the RangeMe platform. 

Q: Are there any categories that won’t be accepted in the application process?

Yes. We do not allow the following categories to apply or pitch their product to Walmart Mexico Merchants:

Q: What is RangeMe, and why am I directed to RangeMe.com to submit my product?

RangeMe is the product discovery and sourcing platform where retailers and suppliers discover, connect and grow their businesses. Walmart has partnered with this web platform – RangeMe, to gather all item pitches for the event. Subject to space availability, only items submitted on RangeMe during the application period will be considered.

Q: I did not get invited to a meeting at the event. Can I still attend?

Companies not invited to pitch products to a merchant are still encouraged to join the live-stream events hosted by Walmart Mexico executives. The Walmart team will share more information at a later date on how to join that session virtually.

Q: How do I know what product pitches have been selected for the merchant meetings?

All companies that submit by the deadline will receive an email after the application period closes extending a meeting invitation, outlining which category and product were selected, if appropriate or applicable.

Q: Now that I have received the email invitation to attend a meeting, how do I confirm my participation in the event?

Invited companies will receive an email from ECRM with registration directions to confirm participation. Those companies will also be offered the opportunity to include a maximum of two (2) attendees if selected to attend in person. Invited companies that are offered a virtual meeting option will have the opportunity to include a maximum of three (3) attendees.

Q: What happens after I submit my attendance confirmation for the event?

You will receive a confirmation email and be included in the communication stream for Walmart Growth Summit Mexico attendees.

Q: I submitted more products than those listed in my confirmed meetings. Can I still present those not listed?

Your product pitch should focus on items appropriate for the category for which you are meeting. Please limit your product pitch meetings to the items listed in your confirmed meeting invitation (and any color/size/style variants that are appropriate for the category listed in the confirmed meeting information).
