Just like buyers from traditional retailers have certain criteria they pay most attention to on your RangeMe profile, distributors also focus on certain fields when evaluating your brand and products on RangeMe. Through our conversations with distributors who use RangeMe, we have compiled the most important criteria distributors look at on your RangeMe profile.
Unsurprisingly, distributors want to know which distributors you currently work with when they are evaluating your brand. The distributor will, of course, want to know if you’re already carried by them, as this generally makes it easier to bring on your products.
Even if you’re not currently working with their distributor, though, this information is still valuable to them because it can give them a sense of the scale of distribution you are currently operating at, so be sure to always list* your distributor on RangeMe.

Promotional spend shows distributors and retailers how much budget you’ve set aside to run promotions, advertisements, or marketing related activities to promote a product or brand.
Because distributors often offer their retail partners discounts and special pricing when introducing new products, it’s important to distributors to find brands that have promotional spend available.
Currently Sold At
Similar to knowing what distributor you currently work with, distributors using RangeMe want to see which retailers you are currently sold at. The main reason for this is for them to see if you are already working with any of their retail partners. However, seeing what retailers you are currently sold at helps to give your brand more credibility and demonstrate existing success with retailers. Learn more about which comes first, the retailer or the distributor, here.
If your retailer is not listed and is not nationally recognized, you can select “Independent Retailers.”
Certifications & Approvals
Some of the distributors using RangeMe have strict standards regarding the products they source.
For example, UNFI often searches for Certified Organic or local products. Be sure to add any certifications and approvals your brand and products have to make it easy for distributors to discover you on RangeMe.
If one of your goals is expansion and getting into a distributor, make sure to fill out the Distributor, Promotional Spend, Currently Sold At, and Certifications & approvals fields on your RangeMe profile to increase your visibility and success with distributors on RangeMe!
