Preparing to submit your brand can feel like a daunting task — but with these best practices and a little help from your team, it doesn’t have to be! Continue reading this article for tips on preparing your brand before you submit to retailers.
How to best present your brand
Before submitting to a retailer, make sure your profile is looking its best and your product information is up to date. It’s always a good idea to consider which fields are most important to buyers, and ensure those fields are optimized on your profile before submitting.
Depending on the timing of your submission, you should also consider any updates to your brand and product line when preparing for submissions.
For example, if you know you are making upcoming changes to your brand — such as releasing updated packaging, adding exciting new products to your line, or taking new product photographs — consider waiting to submit to retailers until after these changes are made, so you can ensure your brand is represented correctly.
Note: If a retailer has an upcoming or current review that fits your products, it is highly recommended to submit during this review period as they are actively looking for products like yours. Any updates you make to your products/profile will reflect in any active submissions. Submissions are active for one month from the submitted date.
Check your Industry Insights to see if there are any trending terms that apply to your products, so you can optimize your profile to include these keywords. You can also see trending MSRP and cost, and if you have been considering adjusting your product prices, now is the time to do it!
We also recommend adding a photo of yourself to your RangeMe profile, because your submission message will be accompanied by your name and a space for your photo. Adding a photo makes your message feel more personal, and helps humanize your brand. You can add a photo in your Settings.
Your RangeMe profile is essentially your “digital sell sheet” and will be how buyers evaluate and perceive your brand when you submit to them so make sure you’re putting your best foot forward! If you’re thinking about revising your brand , check out RangeMe Services to find a service provider who specializes in design, labeling, or packaging.
Involving your team in submissions
Submitting your brand to a retailer can seem overwhelming, as there are so many factors to consider: which retailers to submit to, when to submit, updating your RangeMe profile, and writing your submission message.
Use Team Access to invite key team members to your RangeMe account to help you prepare for and manage your submissions.
For example, you can invite your Marketing Manager to make sure that your profile is looking its best and to help write your submission message. Or, you can invite your Sales Manager to help you evaluate the most strategic retailers for your brand to submit to.
With these best practices in mind, you will be set up for success when preparing to submit your brand! For even more in-depth information on preparing your brand for submissions, check out the recording of our Premium webinar about Retailer Submissions.
